PHYSICS

“Physics is the branch of science that deals with the study of matter, energy and their relationships”.

BRANCHES OF PHYSICS

In the practical field the common branches of Physics are the following : 

MECHANICS

This branch of physics deals with the study of the motion of objects, their causes, and their effects. 

FOR EXAMPLE:

It involves in the study of the motion of fan, the motion of moving cart, taking a turn by bus, etc

HEAT ( THERMODYNAMICS )

 This branch of physics deals with the study of the nature of heat, modes of transfer of heat, and its effects.

FOR EXAMPLE :

It involves the expansion of matter due to heat, measuring body temperature with a thermometer, etc.

SOUND

This branch of physics deals with the study of physical aspects of sound waves, their production, properties, and applications.

FOR EXAMPLE :

It involves the study of mechanical waves in gases, liquids, and solids which includes vibration, sound, ultrasound, and infra sound. 

LIGHT ( OPTICS )

This  branch of physics deals with the study of physical aspects of light, its properties working, and the use of optical instruments.

FOR EXAMPLE :

It involves 

the study of the behaviour of infrared light, ultraviolet, mirror, lenses, etc.

ELECTROMAGNETISM

This branch of physics deals with the study of charges at rest and in motion, their effects, and their relationship with magnetism. 

FOR EXAMPLE : 

In this branch of physics, we study  about electric fields, light, magnetic fields, etc.

ATOMIC PHYSICS 

This branch of physics deals with the study of the structure and properties of atoms.

FOR EXAMPLE :

It involves the study of isotopes, reactions of atoms, etc. 

NUCLEAR PHYSICS 

This branch of physics deals with the study of properties and behavior of nuclei and the particles within the nuclei.

FOR EXAMPLE :

It is used in power generation, nuclear weapons, medicines, magnetic resonance, imaging, industrial and agricultural isotopes, and nuclei. 

PLASMA PHYSICS 

This branch of physics deals with the study of production, properties of the ionic state of the fourth state of matter.

FOR EXAMPLE :

It is used in lightening, nuclear fireball, designs, etc.

GEOPHYSICS 

 This branch of physics deals with the study of the internal structure of the earth.

FOR EXAMPLE :

It is used in the study of seismic waves, earthquakes, etc.
