Sony at on Xperia event today, Sony announces three new smartphones, known as Xperia 5 III Flagship and Xperia 10 III. The first two smartphones are flagship phones which have Snapdragon 888 processor and the Xperia 10 III is a mid-range smartphone powered by the rather newest Snapdragon 690 SoC.
Design and Display of Xperia 5III & Xperia 10III
The Sony Xperia 5 III is a comparatively more modest flagship device designed for customers who don’t want to negotiate on the user experience but want something small. The design of Xperia 5 III is typical Xperia aesthetics and looks very much similar to Xperia 1 III. The device is protected between two Gorilla Glass 6 sheets and is ranked IP68 for protection from dust and water. Xperia 5 III is available in three colors: Black, Green, and Pink. The mini flagship phone has screen support around a 6.1-inch OLED panel with 1080p resolution with 120 Hz refresh rate and HDR support. And it has IP68 water and dust resistance rating. On the other hand, Sony Xperia 10 III has a slightly more modest camera bump and is obtained by a 6-inch OLED display screen on the front. Xperia 10 III supports HDR 10 and comes with a regular 60 Hz refresh rate with 1080p resolution, and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. You also get an experience of IP68 water and dust resistance rating and a headphone jack with LDAC and Hi-Res audio support.
Internals and storage of Xperia 5 III & Xperia 10 III
The Xperia 5 III is powered by one of the most powerful chipset Snapdragon 888 with 8 GB RAM and 128 or 256 GB storage memory. It has hybrid dual SIM slots and allows expansion of available storage through an SD card slot. It has improved microphone input with added noise reduction. On other hand, Xperia 10 III comes with the Snapdragon 690 SoC 5G chipset with 6GB RAM and 128GB with expandable storage. It is the first Song Xperia mid-range device that comes with support for 5G.
Cameras of Xperia 5 III & Xperia 10 III
The Sony Xperia 5 III has a triple rear camera setup that has the same sensors and lenses that can physically switch between 70mm and 105mm focus. The Xperia 5 III has an 8MP selfie camera at the front. The Xperia 10 III offers a triple sensor camera setup with a 12 MP main camera and lenses which have a 27mm equivalent lens. The smartphone includes a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 12MP primary, an 8MP secondary sensor with a macro lens, and an 8MP tertiary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens. The Xperia 10 III also has an 8MP selfie camera at the front.
Both phones come with a 4500 mAh cell. However, the Xperia 5 III flagship comes with support for up to 30W fast charging while the Xperia 10 III mid-ranger offers 18W fast charging.
