Xiaomi’s Redmi brand is launching its first-ever gaming phone on April 27 at 7:30 pm CST (6 pm IST) in China. News about a Redmi Branded K40 Gaming Phone has been making rounds on the internet. The Xiaomi’s Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition looks to carry the same front panel design as the other Redmi K40 series smartphones, with slim bezels all around the phone. Along with the announcement, Xiaomi also shared some of the details about the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition.
Redmi has published a GIF image on Weibo, the key features of Xiaomi Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. It shows that the phone comes with mechanical shoulder buttons for an enhanced gaming experience for the user. There is a vertical triple camera setup on Xiaomi’s Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition, with some lighting LED strips at the top-left corner of the phone.

This upcoming Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition carries model numbers as M2104K10AC and M2012K10CXiaomi. The model numbers refer to two different variants of the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. The listing reveals that the handset will carry support for 5G connectivity and have a 67W wired fast-charging support.
According to the advertisements, Xiaomi Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition will have a Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The Phone is said to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC chipset, along with a large 5,000mAh battery. Reports also suggest that the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition will have a 64MP primary camera at the rear.
Redmi K40 Gaming Edition will be China-exclusive or it will also appear in other markets. What’s clear, though, is that it will give the likes of Red Magic 6 & ROG Phone 5 a run for their money. As for the pricing, The Redmi K40 will most likely cost around $300.
